Developer BRIGHT shines at the International Property Awards in London

Their Vista Lago Residences Project was recognised as the “World’s Best Residential Development” at the prestigious awards.

Marbella, 1st March 2022: Last Friday, the International Property Awards voted Vista Lago Residences as the “World’s Best Residential Development” at a packed event held at the renowned Savoy Hotel in London. “Competing against more than 500 projects worldwide and winning the first prize is a victory for both Marbella and Vista Lago,” says Michael Rodziewicz, CEO of BRIGHT, the developer responsible for the Vista Lago boutique resort.

This sustainable luxury project also won the “Best in Europe” award for its architecture, the result of a successful collaboration between BRIGHT and the architecture and interior design firm UDesign. Because of this partnership, they already won the accolades “Best in Spain” and “Best in Europe” at the very same Property Awards in 2019 with Villa Alcuzcuz, the first luxury ‘Passive House’ in Marbella.

The whole team – including the collaborating architects González & Jacobson, dealing with technical and sustainable issues – everyone involved has worked tirelessly and creatively to contribute to this success. Jason Harris, CEO of UDesign said: “This is a great victory for the architecture and design sector on the Costa del Sol because such an award reflects an unusual level of excellence and brings this southwest corner of the continent closer to the forefront of the world-class architecture and design”.

The sustainable luxury residential complex

The high demand for luxury properties in the Golden Triangle area has increased considerably during 2021, reaching historic levels never seen before. The purchase of luxury villas has skyrocketed, and Vista Lago Residences is no stranger to this phenomenon. Currently, 66.7% of the villas, ranging in price from 3,295,000 to 4,295,000 euros, are already reserved by buyers from Poland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and the United States.

The 18 villas that make up Vista Lago Residences – whose construction started in the summer of 2021 – have a total development value of 68 million euros. Each one is different with an area of approximately 700 m2 on plots ranging from 1,100 m2 to 10,000 m2. Most of the villas have views of the Mediterranean that go as far as Gibraltar and the African coast, and five of them also have views of the La Concha mountain and the city of Marbella.

Each of the villas at Vista Lago is now in the process of obtaining BREEAM certification. They are being audited by independent experts who are ensuring that the quality and performance standards of the scheme are being met, specifically in the areas of good commissioning practices, policies applied to construction management, thermal comfort, natural and artificial lighting, air quality, acoustics, CO2 emissions, efficient lighting, and installations, monitoring of the energy consumed, etc.

A unique location

The complex is located on a 6.5-hectare plot within the 200-hectare country club estate of Real de la Quinta, in the hills overlooking Marbella, 365 metres above sea level. Owners will be able to enjoy a reservoir and all the sports and leisure facilities Real de La Quinta has to offer, including the 35,000 m2 artificial lake and club, which are currently under construction. Bordering the area is the recently declared Sierra de Las Nieves National Park, so the location itself is of high environmental value, with plenty of open spaces all around, and only a 10-minute drive from Marbella’s Golden Mile.
